Neighborhood Resources

The purpose of the Department of Neighborhood Resources is to develop and coordinate grant-funded programs to supplement local annual budget allocations. The Department of Neighborhood Resources is responsible to assist in the mission of the City of Huntsville’s goal of maintaining and improving the social and economic well-being of its citizens, and the sustainability of the community.

PUBLIC NOTICE - Huntsville Hazard Mitigation Plan up for Public Review (March 12, 2018)

A draft 2018 Hazard Mitigation Plan providing an overview of natural hazards, summarizing past hazard events, and presenting potential future actions to minimize impacts on life and property is available for public review from March 12 through April 11, 2018. The Plan can be accessed through the City of Huntsville’s website at as well in a hard copy form available at City Hall located at 1212 Avenue M, Huntsville, Texas, 77340.

An approved and adopted plan is a requirement for the City to remain eligible for future hazard mitigation grant funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Following public comment, the Plan will be reviewed by the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) with subsequent review from FEMA. Once approved, it will be presented for adoption by the City granting eligibility for future grant applications.
